Google allow AdWord bidding on competitors company and brand names
Google have announced that from 5th May 2008, it will once again be possible to bid on third party trademarked brand names via Google AdWords. "Er, so what?" I hear some of you ask. Well, this means anyone will be able to appear on Google using your company and product names in their ads. I bet that has got your attention!
Destroy your enemy by making him a friend
Whilst this may at first strike fear in to your hearts, don’t panic. Unless you have really upset someone – like a trade union
in the case of Marks and Spencer – then Google have technology in place to support you. However, whilst it is effective it doesn’t mean you can ignore this announcement. Reputation management is a key part of the planning behind an effective Paid Search strategy.
